A few photos from a sunny morning at Pennington, Hants. Most birds photographed on Fishtail Lagoon. The Little Grebe was in the nearby canal.

Have finally admitted defeat, and started selling my DSLR equipment. I already had the lightest set up I could realistically use, and even this was not going out with me very much. So the camera body has been sold, and a Nikon Coolpix p900 "Superzoom" purchased. Really happy with the results from this camera, which is about a third of the size and weight of my DSLR, and more importantly can fit in rucksacks, and attach to my belt etc. Initial photos below.. the Red Kite and Greenfinch in particular were very distant in poor light. I would never have got anything from my previous set up. The close ups, well they aren't quite as good as the DSLR, but still good enough quality for the web. I can see nearly all birders going down this route now. 2000mm handheld is pretty enticing.
